I’m Dhruv, a first-year biomedical engineering student at the University of Waterloo, exploring the intersection of neuroscience, technology, and healthcare.
From AI-powered brain scan analysis to an EEG-controlled interface, I build projects that turn curiosity into something people can use. I also lead communities that make science and technology more accessible.

Worked with a team of seven interns on hardware and software projects related to biomedical engineering. Presented proposed solutions to employees and the chief executive team.
Selected for a 10-week, full-time paid medical research placement in Indiana, a program typically reserved for university students. One of five high school students selected in the preceding decade, as described in my résumé.
Observed spinal and neural surgeries with qualified surgeons, including Dr. Rajendra Trivedi and Dr. Raj Patel, gaining first-hand exposure to neurosurgery and robotic surgery.
Lead an 11-person team creating 10+ courses in STEM and coding. Expanded the registered nonprofit internationally, reaching 400+ students across 30+ countries and five schools in Canada.
Grew a group of five friends into a community of 50+ students across Markham and Toronto. Supported neuroscience learning and preparation for the International Brain Bee and IYNA neuroscience and neurotechnology challenges.
Taught 50+ students about medical innovations and the mathematics of medicine, preparing them for leadership conferences. Placed third in Medical Math at the Fall National Leadership Conference in Grade 11.
Led a flight of around 50 cadets and taught aviation to a classroom of 30, developing leadership, discipline, and communication skills.
Organized and planned events, including a math-themed escape room, and designed a spreadsheet to budget the required materials.
04 / WHAT KEEPS ME CURIOUS
Senior school team player and coach at Fernando’s Badminton Academy. Coached around 30 athletes, with a focus on boys’ doubles and 108 volunteer hours.
Public speaking and leadership facilitation with iLEAP, volunteering with Cancer Warrior Canada Foundation, and building an interactive laser maze for IB mentorship.
